The short version Readery is a reading tracker in beta. Use it. Be kind. Don't try to break it or spam other readers. If we mess up, we'll fix it. If you mess up, we might remove your account.

Who these terms are between

These terms are between you (the person using Readery) and Readery, operated by Kelly Staller (Parkland, Florida, USA). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.

Beta status

Readery is currently in beta, distributed via Apple TestFlight. That means:

Things may change — features can appear, evolve, or disappear as we learn from real use.
Bugs happen. We'll fix them, but please don't rely on Readery for anything critical during beta.
Data may occasionally be lost or reset during major updates (we try hard to avoid this, but promising zero data loss in beta is dishonest).

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your email and password safe.
One account per person, please. Don't create accounts to impersonate someone else.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Readery.

Your content

Your books, ratings, notes, highlights, wrap-ups, and reading data are yours. You own them. We store them so we can show them back to you and generate wrap-ups and recommendations, but we don't claim ownership.

When social features launch, anything you choose to share publicly (a wrap-up posted to your Story, a recommendation sent to a friend) is your call and your responsibility.

Book data

Book titles, author names, cover images, and descriptions come from public sources (Google Books, Open Library, Hardcover). Publishers and authors retain all rights to their work. Readery does not host or distribute copyrighted book content.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

Try to break, hack, or reverse-engineer the app or our servers.
Use Readery to harass, spam, threaten, or impersonate other readers.
Upload malicious content, or content you don't have the right to share.
Scrape our data or automate account creation.
Use Readery for illegal purposes.

If you do, we may suspend or remove your account without warning.

What we promise

To take care of your data (see the Privacy Policy).
To communicate honestly about beta status and changes.
To fix bugs as we find them.
To respond to questions at hello@readeryapp.com, usually within 48 hours.

What we can't promise

Readery is provided "as is" during beta. We can't guarantee it will be available 100% of the time, that it will be free of bugs, or that every feature you want will ship. We are, however, working on it every day.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Readery. If something we do causes you real harm, please tell us — we want to make it right.

Changes to Readery

We may add, change, or remove features. When a change materially affects you, we'll notify you. Continuing to use Readery after a change means you accept it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Readery evolves out of beta. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the most recent version. Meaningful changes will be announced.

Cancellation

You can delete your account any time (Profile → Delete Account in the app, or email us). We'll remove your data.

We can remove your account if you violate these terms. We'll try to notify you first unless the violation is severe.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA.
